For my career plan, I want to get a bachelors in animation and also get a minor in game design and writing. With that, I want to go into an animation career, whether that’s working for a smaller animation company or a big company like Disney or Pixar. I also may want to do the animating for games like the character design if I’m not just animating characters for movies/shorts. I also want to be a freelance writer on the side if I can since I enjoy writing. My objectives are to become a successful animator making around 60k-68k a year and any extra money I may be making as a freelance writer.
In this session, I learned about the many different jobs in IT and how much they pay. I saw a lot of information the creating IT futures that a lot get paid around 60k-103k. While I’m not looking to go into an IT career really, it was interesting to learn that there are some IT careers that pay only around 60k since a lot of the times I’ve heard that jobs in IT pay really well. I also learned about setting up my resume and LinkedIn profile. I had already started with some of the LinkedIn profile things before which kind of was interesting. I think that knowing how to set up and what to put on your LinkedIn profile is helpful because you wouldn’t have any excess or unnecessary information on your profile. Such as an award for the nicest person in elementary school verse a recognition award for winning a contest on a research of some kind. Knowing this information in the future will help me because it can help me refine my resume in the future as I get more experience, and in general, having a LinkedIn and resume can help me get a job.
