In this lesson, I learned about multimedia. Multimedia includes things such as pictures, video, and audio. I learned about how to add pictures and the differences between a raster graphic and a vector graphic. I learned that a raster uses the pixels (when you zoom up on it you see pixels) and vector graphics which use points to map out and draw an image (when you zoom up on a vector it looks the same). I also learned how many different formats like .ogg or .wav exist for video and audio. It helped because I also learned that there are certain formats that aren’t supported on certain browsers because there isn’t a standard format that would be supported across all browsers. The same goes with images as well. Sometimes an image won’t show because it isn’t supported. How this can help in the future is if I need to add a video or image to a future website. I would also be able to know that I need more than just one type of the video, audio, or image just in case another format doesn’t show.
